THE SNOW MUCH MORE BACHELOR & BACHELORETTE AUCTION CHARITY DINNER ON SATURDAY 2 JULY 2011 RAISED OVER $10,000 FOR SNOWY HYDRO SOUTHCARE AND COOMA HOSPITAL’S EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Jillian Norris was crowned this year’s bachelorette and Steve Tucker was crowned this year’s bachelor. All contestants provided a significant contribution to the fundraiser.
“What an amazing night, there was certainly a lot in the planning but the night was packed with many surprises”, said Ange Hart who organised the event. Cal Phillips from Snow FM provided an outstanding performance, with the same precision he applies to his delivery on Snow FM. Don Peterson from Fisk & Nagle added a dynamic performance to the outcomes of the night.
Many items were auctioned off including a box minus the ribbon, which fetched $25, a spoon for $20, salt & pepper shakers that belonged to The Alpine, which they bought back for $40. Craig from The Alpine Hotel was an excellent sport and auctioned himself off. He raised $250 and had one of his staff auctioned off there after and she raised $300.
Guest speakers for the evening included Member for Eden Monaro, John Barilaro, Mayor of Cooma, Dean Lynch, Vicki Williams from the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Board and Manager of Cooma Hospital’s Emergency Department, Sandra Hedges.
Stypa, the string quartet opened the night with an ambience of elegance. The live and silent auctions had all 60 attendees contributing very generously. We would like to thank all the businesses who provided support by donating items. The night concluded with an excellent performance by the BarStars with former members of Mental As Anything and Daddy Cool.
Snow Much More is thrilled to have achieved this level of success in its first ever fundraiser and with our 1st year anniversary on 23 July 2011.
Guests on the night dug deep to help these incredibly vital lifesaving services.
