What a great day it was for the Snow Much More Fun Run. 175 Runners arrived to a beautiful spring day here in Cooma. It was great to see such a huge level of support from our community and surrounding areas.

An award ceremony took place in Centennial Park just past 12pm. John Barilaro presented awards to the following runners, including his own daughter.

4km runners:
Michael Johnson (first adult) time: 16.17
Chelsea Lunt time: 20:51 category: 5-10 (9yr), 3rd overall
Alessia Barilaro time: category: time: 30:50 11-14 (14 yr)

Lindsay Wall (first adult) time: 31.02
Jarrod Sopniewski time: 42.30 category: 11-14 (11yr)
Louisa Wall time: 50.06 category: 15-17

Kelly & Ben Morley received an award for raising the most funds (outstanding effort)!

The largest team award was presented to Cooma Hospital and Friends, organised by Pru Marshall.

Highlights included a very jovial Dr David LeaRoyd and his son, who brought much entertainment to the event, running the 10km run in their entire surgical outfits. Well done, for such a sporting effort!

Snow Much More would like to thank John Barilaro, Member for Monaro, Dean Lynch, Mayor of Cooma for taking time out of their busy schedules to support Snow Much More by participating in the 4kg leg of the Fun Run. We would also like to thank The Cooma Monaro Shire Council for all the hard work put in behind the scenes with the approval process, traffic control and track design. Special thanks must go to Ken Dane of the Cooma Rotary Club and his fellow Rotarians that volunteered to help out on the track and all our volunteers, runners, friends and family that helped make it such a special day.

There was support community wide with people in the region and beyond supporting with generous donations. Snow Much More raised funds in the vicinity of $3,750 for the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Helicopter and the Cooma Hospital. Snow Much More has now raised over $14,000 this year for Snowy Hydro SouthCare Helicopter and the Cooma Hospital who continue to save lives every day of the year.
